Principal Fellows Program

Offered since 2008, the Principal Fellows Program is designed to challenge and strengthen the leadership of selected exceptional, early- career secondary school principals with innovative knowledge, skills, and vision to lead schools where all children succeed and thrive.  The three-year program of monthly seminars and annual retreats targets both organizational and instructional leadership with sessions taught by relevant faculty from Stanford GSE, Stanford GSB, the d.school, as well as outside speakers.

Principals learn strategies to ensure equitable access to rigorous instruction, to promote teacher leadership focused on improving instruction throughout the school, to increase high-school completion rates and participation in higher education, to strengthen school culture and capacity for continuous learning, and to closely assess the linkage of site decisions to student achievement.
